Cubs News and Notes: Boomin' Baez, Roster moves, Edwards rehab, Arrieta, more

I certainly hope that Tom Ricketts, Jed Hoyer, and Theo Epstein decide to have a meeting of the minds sometime soon because very little about this team is working these days. Full Story »

We have to be the poorest team to lose to the teams we should easily beat. When we can't beat teams that are below you in the standings that's a major problem. It has to be fixed. Imo the day to day starting lineup would look like this.

LF-up for the taking
CF-Almora
RF- Heyward
3rd- Bryant
Short- Baez
2nd- Dee Gordon
1st - Rizzo
Catcher--Contreras
Pitcher-?

Schwarber is benched unless there's an injury
They need to get Dee Gordon. Now the batting order

Gordon
Whoever plays left field
Bryant
Rizzo
Baez
Heyward
Contreras
Almora
Pitcher.

That's a formadble lineup power and speed at the top, power and hitting for average the middle down.
Why not try the same lineup for a couple of weeks in a row. Nothing else seems to be working.

Dee Gordon would be a great pick up in 2014. He's worse than Bote/Russell combo we have right now.

As for Schwarber, I have been saying since December the Cubs should offer him and Happ to Cleveland for Trevor Bauer and a minor leaguer. Go rent a player for left field for the balance of the year.

Batting Order in my World

Almora - CF
Rizzo - 1B
Bryant - 3B
Baez - SS
Contreras - C
Heyward - RF
Mystery man - LF
Russell - 2B
Pitcher
